For my first video post (hooray!) I wanted to give a tutorial on a topic I have been asked about a lot lately. Many people have seen other Facebook users with an opt-in box on their profiles.
An opt-in box is simply a form you use on your website to collect the names and email addresses of people who want to be on your list. (My box is on the top right here.)
You definitely want to have a way to capture people’s contact information if they are coming to your website, and it’s the same with your profile on Facebook.
There was some confusion as to how exactly to add the box, so this video walks you through how it is done.
Let me know if it is helpful for you.

I really like the video approach. Show and tell works great.
I particularly like this because I haven’t spent much time in Facebook, so it makes it easier for me to learn fast.

@J.D.–I love it as well when I go to others’ sites. For myself, it’s more effective to learn something visually. I think being able to provide people with video tutorials (especially with regard to something techy) is fantastic.
Easy enough! But I’d like to get it on my page as well. I seem to be having trouble. Have you tried this?
I tried this and it messed up my page….i have iContact….when I google icontact i get stuff like “how do i contact facebook” so have you heard anyone using iContact?
@Jeff–not sure if you figured it out, but to get it on your Fan Page you use a different app–StaticFBML
@Shoan–I don’t use iContact myself but I believe they give you similar code to use. Are you using Raw HTML code?
Thank you, easy to understand. Do you plan to do one on how to add video to your profile and fan page.
I’m just not tech savvy:)

This is so awesome!!! I googled my question, “how to put an icontact opt-in box in facebook” and it came up with this website. Where I asked the same question a month ago!! anyhow, I am glad your site is coming up to the top!
@Walethia–good idea! Will have to put that on the to-do list.
@Shoan–wow, good to know that search engine optimization is workin’ lol!
